Get the Most Out of Your Tires

Tire maintenance is an easy way to ensure your car lasts for years to come. Here are some main aspects of tire care to keep them at peak performance.
  • Tire Balancing: This helps you have a smooth ride and minimize tire wear. When one or more of your tires are out of balance, you'll be able to tell because your steering column or wheel may shake. You may also notice if your seats are vibrating while you drive.
  • Tire Inflation: Correct tire pressure is more important than you may think. When you have optimal tire pressure, you reduce wear and tear on your tires, increase fuel efficiency and enhance the handling. Tire pressure will decrease normally every day and can lose 1-2 pounds for every drop of 10 degrees in temperature. In warmer weather, that number increases. This is why your tire pressure should be checked on a regular basis.
  • Tire Rotation: Tire rotations not only help reduce uneven wear but extend the life of your tires as well. We recommend having your tires rotated every 6,000 miles.
  • Wheel Alignment: If your wheels are out of alignment, it can cause stress and unnecessary problems elsewhere on your car. When wheels are out of alignment, your vehicle may drift to one side or the other, vibrate and have uneven tire wear. Additionally, this can add stress on tires, steering and axles. We suggest having your wheels aligned at least once a year and when you buy 4 new tires.
